I am hearing you and Carl well about this ‘language’ subject, and I think we are all hearing each other — this is very good all around. And, you know, we more ‘ancient’ do have a tendency we recognise sometimes as useful – just to say a thing we feel, once it is composed in one way at least. This is never the whole story, but it is often useful _in_ a story. And anyway, not so ancient of course – just of benefit also of family where some have always been growing more so that way . And so we share.

Would tell you, I have had enough experience of closeness with degree of ‘knife tongue & tofu heart’ to really appreciate. So please be sure to know I smile in a very nice way. And prepared to tease and be teased also…

Professional world. Well, yes. We all learn to have our own face for this, and one way or another, that it can grow to be truly important, also a life-long task. Because this view is also one aspect of humanness, and one we are in my opinion mostly not so good at. Then I like to see the ways we experience our life more fully, first and always, and in a way then refine, to bring the best of that into the ‘exchanges’ which we say are professional. While we always continue our fuller life.

On the action of WordPress and images, this is still a bit mysterious to me. Maybe we can figure it out, because I plan to use WP too, and if not as much as you and Carl on the pictures, it’s important they look good. If I find out anything more, will let you know – something else keeps me busy for present.

On the writing after dreams, you are very right – I can’t get any full sense of it from translators, but I do get some sense anyway . Some practice long ago with Korean, and general appreciation of languages does help.

I use several of the translators, which is kind of an interesting (post-modern) way to approach meaning. Sometimes there are great differences in results, and one is seemingly much clearer than another. But not necessarily more correct…this is a very good reminder….

I did enjoy both some senses I got out of your writing itself, and some meanings which seem to float up out of the breadth of these dreams. One is always considerate of anything like that – nothing is definite. But it can enrich our own thought and feelings to hear the ‘conversations’ of others, don’t you think? The ones we choose, anyway .

I took the title to be something like ‘Dream, after Dream of the Red Chamber’ – maybe this is in a way a good result even from the internet translator. If we use the word ‘after’ in the way I am familiar with as ‘efter’ from Norwegian, and I guess Swedish is something of the same. In that case it means ‘influenced’, or ‘connected with’, especially ‘made by respecting’ some earlier artist’s work. It can be so in English also, worded as above.

I actually have one of the original Red Chamber chapters in a small book, the kind you pick up at the train station, which is how I got it. I looked just now but didn’t find it yet – maybe this copy is in German, so more practice than reading for me. And then I found the first chapter in English on the web – two versions again to see about….

First of all, i want to say sorry for my dishonor to Carl. After reading your comments, i thought a lot about my action and the way of using language. My English is not so good as yours and Carl’s, so maybe sometimes when i want to show some humor but it doesn’t come out the right way. For example “what are you doing all the time?” on Carl’s blog. i think i shouldn’t forget adding a smiling face behind it next time and actually i did smile when i wrote this sentence. My Chinese friend call me “knife month” with a “tofu heart”. i can show you a typical example between Carl and me:
Carl: I am sorry about that! do you still love me?
Linn: i hate you!
Carl: i love you too.
Then we hug each other. (i forgive him already but i am still a little bit proud! Carl is very proud too we never give up or loose if we have different opinion. ask him!) Anyways, I think I will not be too childish or personal in a professional world. Sometimes you need somebody help you to grow up, right?

second, thank you for giving us a very important advice of my blog. Actually, carl and I also found the difference between Firefox and IE after i published the pictures. but we didn’t know what was wrong with IE. we thought the mistakes was from my text because i use chinese and chinese punctations. we deleted and updated this post many times so that your comments disappear. but i am very happy i found it in my email box so I could published it again.

Last, THANKS!!! you read my dream! I don’t know if you translated it by internet or not (accroding to my experience, it’s almost no grammar) but i think you cought something or your own feeling from the story, so even we don’t have a match point, it doesn’t matter anymore, does it? Sorry i didn’t translate the title because i couldn’t find the English word for it, maybe you can help me? anyways, i really appreciate your respect on a small unperfect girl. (i asked Carl why he didn’t read my dream, he told me “i don’t understand Chinese!” hehehe~~~)

Being in a new place can certainly open our vision, and the dreams which slowly make the adjustments, besides entertaining and enlightening us.

In a related way, I must say that I hope you are giving Carl more ‘freedom of self’ than sometimes in your comments of his weblog. He is after all a man, a Swede, a modern person in a life surrounding us with change and new openings — or challenges.

A close friend, as another person opened to us in the gentle ways, has a remarkable ability to allow us to expand our life. We must be careful not to think it is all a matter of ourself. After all, a great deal of Chinese wisdom one way or another shows, that relationship is very much of everything. This means this wisdom’s ‘place’ can suddenly leap ahead, in relevance to our currrent and coming world. My opinion anyway.

Much of the best to each and both of you. I think you are lucky in having youth, and most lucky of all in having time, to make nice use of.

It’s very interesting to learn you’d been in Sweden before, Linn, and in what auspice. This then reminds me again, of someone who was close, artistic, capable, and very eastern, who was my luck to have as friend once too.

She taught me a small Korean tale at one moment, about being careful about throwing one thing away entirely on discovering another. It was good advice, hidden in our many experiences. Again, time gives a good way to tell.
