中瑞婚礼–小刚与玛利亚! A Chinese and Swedish Wedding!36 images

A Chinese boy, Zeng Xiao Gang, and a Swedish girl, Maria Ådahl, met each other three years ago and today they got married in Sweden. It’s not easy for them with two different cultural background, from knowing to understanding, from love to forgiving, and finally they are together! I wish them - my lovely friends will have a wonderful life together both in Sweden and China!

By the way, I made the wedding cake together with local bakery. They baked the body and i made the decoration. Covered the cake with marzipan and built them up. There are some very strict rules at swedish bakeries so that i can only decorate the cake in the freezer (it was so cold!) and of course no camera inside! There is one picture left from the day i made the flowers! That bunch of lily and roses was placed beside the cake, but not on the cake!

Some of these pictures are taken by Carl Rytterfalk / click to see his wedding post.

Stunning pictures! Well done!!! Carl can be fond of having such a very versatile assistant :) Better to bake and decorate the cake yourself for next time because then we can enjoy also pictures :D

I agree with you! it’s too difficult to have a free hand, and people get stressed very easily~~~ so next time i will try to make everything by myself even it’s a big work, but i really enjoy doing it!

Hi Linn, and again these pictures are very enjoyable. You and Carl have some quite nice friends, I think - and a lot of wit and spark in each of them ;).

I think we were a little confused by the stamp you put on the pictures. Maybe if you could explain what ‘duo duo’ means.

This is maybe one of those cultural matters, in that we like and expect the partnership which comes with you and Carl - and yet, we have a pretty strong feeling to separate what is individual in it.

This may be difficult, so I thought of an example. What if you, say, knitted a hat with colors in a design. We might understand that the result comes from many things: the beautiful crafts of your region in China, your special family growing up, and your time and place with Carl now, where more personalities and cultures come into it, even perhaps in colors you choose.

We would think of this in your whole of life — and yes, the part with Carl — and we would think mostly of your own ability which has grown to be able to see and to act in these things, to recognise the hat could be made, and just how. This is your expression, which we like to notice and respect.

I guess you can play this back about the pictures. Each person can probably have an art in images; and this will also always be individual. So I think we are interested always to be sure who we are respecting in this part of photography, the image; as much as we appreciate that in a studio, there is much help and influence from each other, of the partners.

I hope I put this so you can think a little easily and softly about it, on your own time, and see where you want to see, and how you choose to place that in all you know, Linn.

I am thinking a bit of Ursula Le Guin, who is always so pleasantly immersed in these human things, personal things, which are the ones also known of culture. That’s a pretty nice mystery for us again today, at least for me ;).

    Best to both of you,
    Clive

    To Ainy,

    不小心字打快弄错啦~~~
    不要生气了~~~给你糖吃~~ :)

    Hi Linn,

it is not difficult to replace your watermark with contents on most your pictures. It is so poor that people steal your work. I have heard that now much more Chinese companies are going to court to fight against themselfs (80%) because of copy rights. 20% are against the rest of the world. Hopefully the situation changes soon. It is a shame the shop didn’t take your offer and they were so rude. Big watermarks over pictures as some photographers do or very small pictures make looking at pictures less enjoyable.
