Oh, this is very good to hear, no personal losses. You know, I am married with a Japanese and therefore, the bad news about the Kobe earth quake hit my heart similar to yours a decade ago. Kobe was just 100km from the place my parents in law live. I would have liked to help, especially if I would have lived close. I could not understand bureaucracy and proudness avoided immediate help. I visited Kobe a year afterwards, and people were still living in containers. It was a shock for me to hear that some people died by shock, although they didn't become injured by the earth quake itself!

We seldom hear the real good things about other countries through our newspapers, sadly. It is the same with Japan, a lot of so much better things there. There has been some political and nowadays also industrial differences between our countries, but no problems with individual's humanity (fortunately).

Hey, I would love to hear more about China :)

To spalbird,

Thank you, spalbird!

My family and all my friends are not effected! Even my hometown Yunnan is actually neighbour to Sichuan but not badly effected, one person was killed. I thought it could be worse. But I still feel sad for the victims, especially children. When I saw news, pictures and movies on line, I couldn't stop my tears. I know something is growing in my heart, something special, not about nation, minority, religion, politics, elder, youth, man, woman...It's about life! Each life is important! I want to help them but I don't know how, even though I will try my best. I think everybody else will do the same like me! I think there is hope, just like my country. there is hope in my country, even so much negative things and news around it, but there is still positive side. I can't say I can see clearly, my age become older which is following my eyes become bleary. but I know my heart is bellowing China. I hope china goes well in the future and Chinese people will have better life. hhhhhh Talk too much!

Have a good day!
